ProVet USA Partners with Smart Buildings Academy to Help Veterans Launch their Clean Energy Careers

Alliance aims to address skilled labor challenges and build a veteran and military spouse talent pipeline for the industry

NASHVILLE, TN (April 5, 2022) – ProVet USA, a national nonprofit organization that empowers veterans and military spouses with the skills to transition into successful civilian careers, today announced its partnership with Smart Buildings Academy, the largest provider of online building automation training and certification. Graduates from both programs will have preferred access to their training programs, hiring partners, networking, and other resources.

Veterans are a vital underutilized resource who have a great deal to offer to potential employers, yet numerous studies indicate that a majority experience significant barriers when entering the civilian workforce. The two main challenges they face are high levels of underemployment and difficulty converting skills learned from the military to the workplace. This alliance will provide valuable marketable skills for our service members that will better enable them to thrive in their post-service careers.

"We are thrilled to introduce clean energy opportunities to our graduates in the booming building automation field", said Brianna Davis, Executive Director of ProVet. "Our programs are so complimentary, as we both utilize methodologies that deliver vetted, high-performing talent to the workforce in less time than traditional methods. It is great to share the mission of helping our veterans obtain rewarding and meaningful civilian careers with our newest industry partner Smart Buildings Academy."

ProVet is actively recruiting transitioning service members, post 9/11 veterans and military spouses for its no-cost leadership and professional development program nationwide and intends to raise the visibility of clean energy careers to its clients. “Military veterans inherit skills through their military service that are highly translatable in our industry. Our partnership will enhance the career trajectory of our service members and build a robust talent pipeline that is desperately needed,” said Phil Zito, CEO of Smart Buildings Academy, and Navy veteran.
